Hopwood Hall 6 Halifax ERA 22
HALIFAX kept their unbeaten league tag for the season with a win that was far from being an elite performance.
A delayed arrival in Lancashire may have been partly to blame but a performance full of errors which was costly in terms of possession and territory was compounded by a tendency to give away penalties when defending their line. Despite the encouragement that this gave to their hosts the Halifax side deserve credit as they defended well, with their line broken just once in the 80 minutes.
Wilberforce College (Hull) 20 Halifax ERA ‘A’ 18
HALIFAX travelled to east Hull for a friendly against Wilberforce College which was played on the rear field at Hull Kingston Rovers’ KCOM Stadium.
The Halifax side bared little resemblance to the side that defeated Furness Raiders a week earlier, coaches Gareth and Lee Greenwood opting to play a more youthful side against a Wilberforce outfit who were playing only their second game of the College season.
