Halifax ERA Rugby & Training
Halifax ERA Student Athletes take part in a full-time training programme. A typical day can be spent in the gym, combat room, on the field and in the classroom.
Wednesday afternoon is Game Day! The Academy has two teams playing in the National College Leagues (Premier & Yorkshire, RFL). Games are video reviewed and players are given targets to work towards so that they can achieve their potential.
All training and playing takes place during the day, Monday-Friday, so that it does not impact upon players’ rugby commitments. The Academy encourage players to keep playing with their community clubs.
All of our players have a full-time gym membership so they can access gym facilities anytime. The gym programme is designed by our Head of Strength & Conditioning, Scott Grix. Field sessions are taken by coaches Lee and Gareth Greenwood with the help of the coaching staff.
It is a fantastic opportunity for any young person who wants to enjoy and progress their Rugby.
The number of our players who have joined professional clubs from our Academy is an amazing story and makes Halifax ERA an outstanding opportunity.
